I2CWSD I2C Downloader

Context

ADuC702x parts with 5 as the middle character for the version branding and I appended to the part number use the I2C protocol also known as Protocol 5. This protocol is described in application note AN806.

The I2CWSD downloader is an Windows compatible I2C downloader. An I2C Dongle can be used to connect the PC to the eval board. Parameters are stored in armwsd.ini in the same folder as the I2CWSD.exe file.

To download a program proceed as follows:

• Connect your hardware to the I2C Dongle.
• Connect the I2C Dongle to a free USB port on your computer
• Start the I2CWSD software.
• If necessary click the Configure key and set the required communications options.
• If necessary select the File to Download using the Browse button.
• On the hardware hold down the Download switch and pulse the reset switch.
• Click on the Start button.
• The I2CWSD will connect to the hardware and the hardware ID string will be displayed in the Monitor Status window.
• Click on the Flash button.
• The selected data will be downloaded according to the Configure options.
• Press the Run button to run the program.
• Note the Monitor Status box which gives helpful hints.
