ARMWSD UART Downloader

Context

ADuC7xxx parts with 3 as the middle character for the version branding can have code downloaded to them using the UART and using Protocol 3. This protocol is described in application note AN724.

The ARMWSD.exe program can be used without or with command line options. If no command line options are given then the application uses armwsd.ini, in the same folder as the ARMWSD.exe file, for its options. If this armwsd.ini does not exist a new one is generated with default options.

To download a program proceed as follows:

• Connect your hardware to an available COM port of your computer using a suitable RS232 cable.
• Start the ARMWSD software.
• If necessary click the Configure button and set the required options.
• If necessary select the File to Download using the Browse button.
• Click on the Start button.
• On the hardware hold down the Download switch and press the reset switch. The selected data will be downloaded.
• Press the Run button to run the program.
• Note the Monitor Status box which gives helpful hints.
